How To Increase Interest And Adoption For Crypto
Updated: Mar 8, 2020
On January 13, 2020, I asked a friend who I run into on occasion, if he'd like some free Bitcoin. I don't see him very often, only about three or four times per year, but I felt inclined to introduce him to the world of crypto. His response was enthusiastically 'yes' to getting some free cryptocurrency (which is not the response I usually get to be honest, at least for now).
I had him download the Bitcoin.com wallet, which has more than 6 million users, and then instantly transferred $1 worth of Bitcoin Cash to him. This was .0038171 of BCH.
The next day I looked at my wallet history, and it showed that this amount of Bitcoin Cash was worth $1.05. It had gone up 5% overnight.
Bitcoin Cash has been or a tear lately. It has doubled in value to $440 (as I write) since early January when I made this video. https://youtu.be/nAACvYlBYxU
I can only imagine my friends surprise when he looks at his wallet now, and sees that the value has increased by 68% in three weeks.
This is how interest and adoption will happen; on-board new users into crypto.
I told him when I transferred the BCH, that the $1 could be worth as much as $1000 in six years.
It's hard to believe, but a lot can happen during this time-frame in the world of crypto. And with Bitcoin Cash's use-case and utility; $200k to $250k BCH is not only plausible, but probable.
I like many other projects; I'm not a Bitcoin Cash maximalist, but it's difficult to introduce Tezos, Theta, 0x, Stellar, etc. to others when they've never heard of it and when it's difficult to 'spend'.
Of course my friend didn't know that Bitcoin has had several forks. So I explained to him that Bitcoin Cash is the improved and faster version of the original Bitcoin, and its adoption is increasing at a steady pace.
I told him Bitcoin is the "dial-up" version, and Bitcoin Cash is the "high-speed internet" version.
I'm sure when I bump into my friend again, he'll have more interest in crypto, and in Bitcoin Cash in particular.
If you haven't downloaded the Bitcoin.com wallet, it's just had a fresh update that makes it very user friendly and aesthetically-pleasing. It holds Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, and it enables users to buy gift cards, buy stuff on Amazon, travel via Travala.com and CheapAir.com, right from the app.
All using Bitcoin Cash.
If you'd like to help spread adoption for Bitcoin Cash/crypto, have your friends download the wallet, send them a small amount of BCH, show them how the wallet works, and you'll likely have a friend for life.
